NXIVM, a personal development business founded in the late 1990s by Keith Raniere, garnered the attention of the nation in 2017 after The New York Times exposed it as a pyramid scheme and religious cult, which forced its female members into sexual slavery. Since then, Raniere was arrested and eventually indicted on federal charges. In July, the founder was convicted of sex-trafficking and racketeering. At the time, many people were revealed to be members or recruits -- from a heiress who was part of members of the Seagram Company fortune to a daughter of an ex- Dynasty actress, but there was none more shocking than former Smallville character Allison Mack. After her arrest in April of 2018 there was a report that Mack was an important person in the sexcult responsible for branding and recruiting women. Mack was found guilty in April 2019 to racketeering convictions and has been awaiting sentence. In the years since the trial, a number of television shows have revealed the NXIVM Cult practices and Mack's involvement. Mack has also spoken out about her next step, and revealed her intentions at the time she was looking at a handful of opportunities. "I am looking forward to doing something more on television. "I believe that finding the right project is all it takes," said she. "I've developed a lot in being capable of listening to my own voice and understand my personal voice. I'm aware of what's most suitable for me, and what matters to me. It's also important to surround myself with people who are adamant about me." Allison Allison Allison
